2020 Swim Team ~ Senior Spotlight

Bearcat Swimmers &  Families, Since this 2020 season didn’t go as planned (thanks to Covid-19) and we couldn’t properly recognize our graduating Seniors as we always do…we had to do something different.  Each and every one of the following swimmers has added so much to the program during their time at San Mateo High School. 

Swim Team – Alumni Update – Larisa Tam

Larisa Tam, SMHS Class of 2017, is a current student athlete at San Diego State University.    This past season as an Aztec, Larisa was a part of the Mountain West Conference Championship Team, their second year  in a row! This past season Larisa placed 7th in the 100 breaststroke, 14th on the 200 breaststroke,

Kalyn Chang, signs Letter of Intent to swim at Biola University

Kalyn Chang,  signs her letter of intent to swim at Biola University this fall.   Kalyn recently was awarded a scholarship from the Positive Coaching Alliance as a Triple Impact Competitor representing the Bay Area.  Congrats Kalyn and we all look forward to watching you to continue your swimming career in the next school year as an Eagle!     Congratulations.

Kalyn Chang, Senior, applied for the Triple Impact Competitor Scholarship in May of  2019, through the Positive Coaching Alliance.  I was just announced that she was a scholarship winner for the Bay Area.  This scholarship is a nationwide program that looks to give scholarships to those that have impacted the game, their teammates and themselves

Emma Lepisova, All American Swimmer

      The NISCA All-American swimming lists have been posted for the 2018-2019 school year. Senior, Emma Lepisova is an All-American in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 54.91.  She is ranked 58th in the nation.  Emma will continue swimming at the college level next year at Northwestern.   Big Congratulations to Emma!!
