In the final game of the regular season, San Mateo honored their Senior Bearcats for the last time on their home field!

According to Coach Jepsen; seniors Jada Walker, Kylie Galea, Monet Scheller, and Isabelle Borges, all 4-year Varsity starters, have worked hard to build this program into the success it is today. These girls, along with their teammates, have raised the bar for San Mateo softball. As sophomores, they ended the year as co-champions in the Ocean division, qualified for and won the first CCS softball game in school history. Last year, the team was promoted to the prestigious Bay division, where they placed 3rd and advanced to the semi-final round of CCS play. Despite today’s loss, the Bearcats remain tied for 2nd place and are looking at their 3rd straight year of post-season play.

Coach Jepsen told the girls today, “It is not just about the game of softball, it is having integrity, respecting those around you, effectively communicating, and building long lasting relationships. You are all amazing, beautiful young women that are going to contribute greatly to this world”

A shout-out to senior Monet Scheller for hitting a bomb over the left field fence!!

We congratulate and applaud our Senior Bearcats! Best of luck and wishing you all success on your future endeavors, you will be missed.
