The Varsity Girls played their last quad game of the season at Burlingame. The Panthers were the first to score in the 1st quarter, but the Bearcats caught up when Senior Marie Rossi made 3 at the line and Senior Katie Osaki and Sophomore Trinity O’Mahoney scored a basket each. O’Mahoney’s came with just 11 seconds left in the quarter, after she stole the ball from the Panthers, to tie the game 7-7. Strong Bearcat defense forced Burlingame to turnover the ball 4 times in the quarter, which included a Panther shot clock violation.

In the 2nd quarter, baskets just weren’t falling in for San Mateo, as they went on a dry spell and scored just 5 points. Burlingame had their strongest offensive quarter, scoring 17 points to take a 24-12 lead at the half. In the 3rd quarter, San Mateo kept the game close, but Burlingame’s 3-point shots helped them outscore the Bearcats 10-6. In the 4th quarter, while the Bearcats had another offensive dry spell, the Panthers took advantage of a few Bearcat turnovers to close out the game 48-24.

Osaki led the Bearcats in scoring with 8 points, followed by Rossi with 7. Sophomore Nesi Hafoka and Senior Lauren Young had the most rebounds with 8 each, followed by Osaki and Rossi with 4 each. Rossi and O’Mahoney had 3 and 2 steals, respectively.
