SMHS Boys Varsity Basketball’s Exciting Win Against Alhambra High School

In the most exciting game of the season thus far, the Bearcats defeated a very strong and talented Alhambra team by the score of 56-46. San Mateo came out strong in the first half leading Alhambra 26 to 14. Tough battles ensued at both ends of the court with the Bearcats prevailing. – a fantastic team

Varsity Bearcats Take Down Oceana 58-27

The Varsity Bearcats started their 3 back to back games this week with a win over Oceana High School. The Sharks came out strong in the first quarter leading 15-11. It was back and forth leading into halftime, but San Mateo came out hot in the second half, out scoring the sharks 33 to 8.

Bearcats Varsity Boys Basketball Beat SSF by the Score of 62-37

The Bearcats had another strong performance led by center David Canabou with a double-double, 18 points, 10 rebounds. Point guard Jackson Chew added 9 points, while guards Brandon Suen and Aden Nolet both contributed 7 points apiece. After a day of rest, the squad will prepare for 3 back to back games starting Thursday January

Beatcats Varsity Boys Basketball Beat Marshall 73-49

Bearcats went into the holiday break with another win against Thurgood Marshall. Gabriel Jaen with the hot hands scored nine 3 pointers to total 33 for the game. Aden Nolet contributed 19 points and Jackson Chew added 8 points.  The squad will square off against South San Francisco High School next Saturday at 3 pm.
