Mateo’s Sensational Showing

From The San Mateo Daily Journal, 5/7/18   Mateo’s Sensational Showing The San Mateo girls’ team took third place overall, thanks largely to the heroics of senior Valeriya Nasedkina and junior Emma Lepisova. “We were really excited because last year we had a really strong team, and a lot of strong seniors left,” Nasedkina said.

Frosh-Soph Excel at PAL Championships

Three gold medals on the men’s team and 3 silvers from both the men and women were posted at the PAL Frosh-Soph Championships Saturday at Mills HS. Freshman Lucas Castillo and sophomore Eeshan Bhat led the Bearcats earning 2 golds apiece.  Castillo won the 200m sprint, even while his next 4 competitors were setting PRs

PAL CHAMPIONS

Emma Lepisova broke a PAL Bay Division record and took 1st Place as the 100 Backstroke Champion with a time of :55.32, while also breaking her own school record.  Valeriya Nasedkina and Ethan Low are the PAL Bay Champions in the 50 Freestyle.  Valeriya is also the PAL Bay Champion in the 100 Breastroke.

Emma Lepisova broke the school record in the 200 Freestyle with a new time of 1:53.75 at the PAL Bay Division Trials on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

Jin through to to CCS; 3 others to PAL Finals

Sabrina Jin jumped 9.5 inches farther than she ever has in the triple jump Friday evening at Menlo-Atherton High School.  Her PR landed her in the upcoming CCS qualifying meet in 2 weeks and also gave her a 2nd place finish overall in the PAL Varsity finals for the event. Friday’s PAL meet also included preliminary heats
