Girls Varsity Swimming · Swim Team – Alumni Update – Lera Nasedkina


Lera Nasedkina, SMHS Class of 2018, is a current student athlete at Drexel University, located in Philadelphia.    This past season as a Drexel Dragon, Lera broke the school record in several events (see below) in the 50 freestyle with time of 22.87.  Lera is the current 50 Freestyle record holder at SMHS with a time of 23.55.  Lera is also a record holder in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay with her Bearcat teammates (Emma Leipsova, Nicole Chang, Cecilia Quan, Natalie Ken & Larisa Tam).

50 Freestyle Drexel Record, 22.87, Finished 5th in the event at Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), League Championship Swim Meet.  In the 50 free, Lera swam a program best time of 22.87, which earned her a spot in the ‘A’ finals where she placed fifth but also set the program’s second best time of 23.17.  Nasedkina now owns Drexel’s top three times in the event.

100 Freestyle Drexel record – 50.19. Finished 5th in the event at CAA’s.

2nd fastest Drexel time in 100 Butterfly – 55.39. Finished 6th in the event at CAA’s.

Lera helped set a new CAA meet record and Drexel record for 200 Medley Relay – 1:39.26 (50 free split – 22.64).  The women’s 200 medley team,  won gold and set a CAA all-time and meet record with a new benchmark of 1:39.26. That time is also a new program record.

Helped set a new Drexel record in 400 medley relay – 3:38.42 (100 free split – 50.40).  The 400 medley relay team took gold after swimming a 3:38.42 to set a new program record for Drexel.

Named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. (as of fall quarter)
